Hi! Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warrior round. Every week writers post 8 sentences on their blogs from a published or unpublished book. Then we "hop" around and leave comments on each other's snippets. Whether our work is already published or in progress, the helpful comments help us become stronger writers on our next WIP. We welcome EVERYONE's comments.
The kidnapper seems more concerned with Deanna's welfare than one would expect.
...and now the eight:
“Just let me go,” she
pleaded, “I swear I’ll forget what you look like.”
“Right,” he
snorted, “you wouldn’t be in this mess if you were that kind of person. Do you
have family?”
“No one has any money to pay a ransom if that’s what you want to know.”
He frowned, “I wasn’t
suggesting ransom, I simply wanted to know if anyone was worried whether you
were alive or dead. I’ll let them know you’re alright.”
He walked to the door, “I wouldn’t waste your time or energy screaming, this
place is pretty isolated in the off season and the only ones who would hear you
are my crew and trust me you don’t want their attention.” He sounded
apologetic, “if you cooperate, we won’t hurt you.”

Oh no, there is a we. She is in trouble. This is not sounding good. Great eight!
They always say not to scream. I wonder why it's that, do they all dread the sound? And I'm not sure he can guaranty her safety either.
This is not a good place to be. Great way to make me want more, though. :)
She's not in a enviable position.
Nice 8!
“Right,” he snorted, “you wouldn’t be in this mess if you were that kind of person."
I love this, Chelle---and I also love how he's offended at her assumption that he's interested in ransom!
I'm beginning to think (okay, not beginning, but more that suspecting) that he's an undercover something-or-other.
good guy or bad guy my mind is wondering.
I love this:
“I wasn’t suggesting ransom, I simply wanted to know if anyone was worried whether you were alive or dead. I’ll let them know you’re alright.”
It makes me think that he's awfully considerate for a bank robber and kidnapper.
Clever readers here, Chelle. Terrific eight so well written. "Bridging the Gap", huh. Sounds so good.
I love the depth of their conversation. You often hear of how kidnappers and their targets have these very complex and dynamic relationships. You nailed with this one on both sides. VERY intriguing 8!
Oh, that's not a great thing, is it? Good snippet, Chelle.
Oh my, that doesn't sound good. Great 8.
A fascinating situation, not at all the norm for someone kidnapped during a robbery, which makes it all the more intriguing. Excellent excerpt!
Very scary. Let's hope he's the one in charge. This sounds like a very intense story.
If he isn't interested in a ransom, he took her for other reasons. Now to find out what those reasons are. Terrific snippet.
A good bad guy. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
Interesting situation. I'm wondering if he really will keep her safe or not.
Interesting... so many layers to this scene. Looking forward to the next bit.
Is he showing a little bit of heart here ? Another great snippet!
